For this Minecraft-ish level I went to recreate a slice of what would exist in Minecraft. I went with creating a temple inspired by the mossy stone structures found in the game.
I began by creating an atlas texture for that I can reference for a majority of all my assets. The only two textures that were not pulled from this texture sheet were the Nether portal effect and the purple flowers. I wanted to make the pipeline of creating this scene as smooth and streamlined as possible and did not want to overload the project with multiple textures.
Here is a screenshot of the Master material for most of the assets in this scene.
Here is the material created for the Nether Portal effect. I aimed at creating a translucent texture similar to the one found in the actual game.
The foliage use a masked and translucent material.
