Artist Roadmap
Projecting Out Past Graduation
1. If you could project out past graduation, what is your overall career goal?
I am projecting myself to work in either AAA or midsize-level game development. I see my opportunities as an Environment artist or Hard surface art skills in job posts that those teams may be looking for. I can also see myself going into Simulation or theme park as a possible backup industry to add to just in case.
2. If you could project out into starting your career, what sounds the most appealing to you?
I see myself going into Environment art and having a second focus on Hard surface art. After those two, I would love to go into weapons/props in the future.
3. What are some of the top companies you are interested in working for?
Santa Monica- I love the high level of detail that all their environment and props enhance the narrative of the story.
Respawn Entertainment- I love the hard surface art that this studio produces for their environments in Apex Legends and the Star Wars games. whether it is weapons, props, or environmental assets, I just love how aesthetically feel.
Naughty Dog Entertainment- The architectural environment art of the Last of Us and Uncharted games is really inspirational and I would love to learn the pipeline into creating modular buildings and rubble that feels natural to the world of this game.
Bungie- Their weapon art is probably the reason why I am so intrigued with their studio. The level of knowledge and creativity to create fictional sci fi weaponry is something that I would love to adopt into my art skills at some point in my career. I also love the organic structures and environment assets and how the environment art blends with the lighting to create and immersive environment.
